Victoria Turner
Victoria Turner was born in London in 1963. Her early childhood was informed by spending many hours in galleries and theatres in London. During her teens a move to California provided an environment rich in colour, texture and new ideas. In the late eighties Victoria returned to the UK and settled in Bristol to work in print production in the advertising industry. After starting a family, she settled into family life, now working as a model for portrait painters.
Victoria also became involved in interior design and appeared on BBC Home Front in the 1990s. Moving to Lands End Cornwall in 2002 taking up painting full time.
Visual communication is an integral part of painting for her, colour is the key ingredient, and or the absence of colour – voids. Snapshots of time and motion, taken from either analytical form or from a visual or emotional memory. Every aspect of living in West Penwith is studied and retained, to be transformed and abstracted, to form paintings that capture images, feelings and a visual dialog that excites the viewer...
