Penzance Literary Festival – Things to do in Cornwall in July

Readers and writers alike have reason to take note this summer as the Penzance Literary festival is back again to celebrate all things written from the 16th-20th of July.

Both a reason to come visit Cornwall and something to check out whilst you’re already here, the Penzance ‘Litfest’ is a great way to spend any amount of time in Penzance.

Writers will love the workshops and guest speaker events taking place throughout the five day event, with Debbie Horsfield and Karen Thrussell already confirmed to be dishing out the tips to anyone struggling with ‘writers cramp’.

If you’re looking for a way to pass an afternoon tickets to events at any of the ‘open’ events (i.e. not workshops) cost just £3.00 for adults and just £1 for kids and concessions, so there’s no great cost to go and see some poetry, take in a reading, or occupy the little ones for an hour or two at an event based around their favourite book characters.

People often ask us what there is to do in Cornwall during the School holidays; and when the Penzance Literary festival is happening, we can sincerely tell them the kids can have a tea-party with the Gruffalo.

Now in its fifth year, the Penzance Literary festival will be using creative space The Acorn as it’s hub for the five-day span, making the Hotel Penzance the perfect base for your stay.

Just fifteen minutes walk from the action, you’re only a walk along the coast back to your luxury accomodation after a day of taking in the best of what the Penzance Literary festival has to offer.
