The Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in the early morning hours of 15 April 1912 colliding with an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York. There were an estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard the ship, and more than 1,500 died, making it one of the deadliest commercial peacetime maritime disasters in modern history.

The exhibition is working in collaboration with private collectors from overseas and national museums in the UK, There will be rare and never seen before items accompanied by personal stories of many survivors including those from Cornwall.
The exhibition also provides a detailed insight into the sinking and what actually happened next.
There will also be on show iconic items from James Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster movie and will feature one of Kate Winslet’s celebrated costumes and other props and pieces from the epic production.
