The Golowan festival in June proves to be a very busy time in the town of Penzance. Preparations for the festival have been ongoing for months with participants fine tuning their displays for the big parade. This year will be no exception with a full list of activities planned for Golowan week. Here are some dates for the diary:
Friday 24th June 2016 – Mazey Eve
Come and enjoy the funfair next to the Jubilee pool after watching the Penzance obby oss Penglaz lead the procession of spectacular dancers and musicians. If you prefer to listen to some local musical talent, pay a visit to the large music tent on the Quay. There are also many surrounding musical events happening over the week. The spectacular fireworks display is a perfect way to end the evenings celebrations.
Saturday 25th June 2016 – Mazey Day
Mazey Day is a fun packed day with a variety of parades, displays and street sellers all lining the centre of Penzance and surrounding streets. Year after year this day proves to be a huge success enjoyed by thousands of visitors and locals.
Sunday 26th June 2016 – Quay Day
To wind down from the week of festivities pop along to the Quay and enjoy the stalls or have a drink in the sun and enjoy the local music talent on offer.
