Penlee House Gallery and Museum are rated as one of the leading Museums in the region. Situated in Morrab road, Penzance, the museum is home to very important collections of 19th and 20th century British art which also incorporates work by talented artists from the local Newlyn School.

Penlee house was built in 1865 as a gracious Victorian home set within a picturesque park and was converted into a first class gallery and museum. The Museum hosts the historical collections of Penzance Town Council, Cornwall Council and Newlyn Art Gallery.

To celebrate the last 20 years since their major refurbishment in 1997, the museum are staging an exhibition called ‘A Casket of Pearls’ which will run from 4th February through to the 3rd June 2017.

The exhibition will showcase how it’s collections of fine and decorative art have developed over the last two decades through social history, photography and archaeology.
